A Girl’s Guide To Being On Time In The Morning.

We all know how hard it can be to be on time in the morning. If you’re going to work, your internship, class, or just have plans, if you follow these few simple steps, you’ll always be ten minutes early.

  1. Pick out your outfit the night before — This may as well be scientifically proven because whenever I pick out my outfit the night before I realize that I’m not stressing out and scrambling around in the morning. Whenever I’ve ever had to pick out my outfit in the morning I easily waste over 15 minutes, if not more, that could be spent doing something else!
  2. Shower the night before — This way you don’t waste time in the morning blow drying your hair. You can just do it the night before and wake up with more time.
  3. Pack your bag the night before — Make sure that everything you need for the day is packed in your purse so you can just grab it and go! Your laptop, notebooks, planner, lipstick, tampons, snacks, and everything in between that you’ll need. This will easily save you a ton of time in the morning.
  4. Set your alarm for ten or fifteen minutes earlier — Let’s get real, that’s not a lot of time at all. If you really think you absolutely cannot live without this 15 minutes, then fall asleep 15 minutes earlier! Have this time as a little bumper just in case you sleep in late, or if there’s anything that can hold you from getting ready on time.
  5. M U L T I – T A S K! — This is probably the most important skill to have when you’re getting ready to go. You’re pretty much on a mission every morning and if you’re not doing more than one thing at once then you’ll be late regardless of how much time you have. If you’re preparing your coffee, don’t just sit and wait for it. Do something else while you’re waiting, like putting on your foundation or start making your breakfast. Even if it takes ten seconds to make your coffee, something is better than nothing. So, technically, you’d be ten seconds ahead of schedule versus ten seconds behind.
  6.  Simplify products and your makeup routine, or just try the best you can to apply makeup quicker — As girls, applying our makeup every morning takes up a bulk of our time. Let’s also take time to realize that the makeup you use to go to work and on a Saturday night out is completely different, so make sure you know to differentiate. It’ll save a huge amount of time!
  7. Don’t check social media — You’ll just go on to check one notification, and before you know it you’ll be scrolling through Facebook for ten minutes.
  8. Make sure you can make a quick and nutritious breakfast — In the beginning of the week, try to meal prep your breakfast for every morning for the week. If this isn’t possible for you, make a quick breakfast. Yogurt with granola and fruit, oatmeal with a banana, or egg whites with half an avocado are my go to breakfast recipes!
