Summer time is arriving shortly! This means cleaning out your closet of all previous seasons clothes, packing away the thi-highs, and packing your purse with Claritin (I have pictures to prove it). It’s important to have a wide variety of statement pieces to add to an outfit, rather than a deep assortment of one signature piece. During the summer is when you’re going to enjoy layering on all of your different accessories, shiny sandals, and floppy sunhats, rather than in the fall where you have to dress up the same warm sweater everyday.
Ladies, it’s up to us to show off these essentials that I’m going to list!
1.) The jumpsuit:
Any color is fine, but I love the simple black jumpsuit so I can articulate it with my accessories (but that’s just me!). Some colors you might be interested in would be a dark creme, mint, or even a dark purple/Marsala (which is 2015’s color of the year btw!)

2.) Statement Sandal:
Straps, embellishments, buckles, crazy patterns, you name it! I usually try to go for a color that I can wear with several outfits, like gold, but don’t be afraid to push the limits. The shoes ALWAYS connect with the outfit.

3. Knock-around bag:
This bag is used only for the beach, running errands, and maybe even a spontaneous road trip! This is the bag that will carry and create many memories with you. The point of this bag is to look at it and immediately think, “OH! I remember last week when I went here and did this!” No need to invest in this bag, might I add. Even a simple Jansport backpack will do!

4.) Sunglasses:
People always have had different views when buying sunglasses. Some think, “well they break easily so I’m fine spending $5 at Claire’s for a low quality pair,” and others (like me) are willing to pay top dollar for quality. I’ve purchased sunglasses from Ray Bans and Coach and they have lasted me for years, but I must add it’s because I always put them back in my case and take care of them. Either way, as long as they’re constantly on your person during summer, you’ll be fine!
5.) Sheer blouse:
For a night out on the town, a dinner date with your boyfriend, work, or any special event, you are going to need this blouse. I would recommend a long sleeved blouse with adjustable sleeves to make them three-quarter (best of both worlds). Choose from these colors: white, mint, blush pink, or royal blue. They are also very easy to style, especially in the summer. Depending on occasion and event, choose a boyfriend pant, a pencil skirt, a skater skirt, or even ripped denim shorts! All sheer blouses have different washing needs, however, so be sure to take very, very, very good care of them!

I hope you all enjoyed this article!
Happy styling! xoxo
